The legend of Troy began with the story of Dardanos, son of Zeus and the ancestor of Troy’s royal family. Members of the royal family were considered to be sons of the gods, and their wealth grew to enormous proportions. Envy of this wealth led to the Trojan War, immortalized by Homer in the Iliad.
One of the first plays ever written for the theater was Euripides’ Trojan Women. During the tour you’ll gain an understanding of the impact of this site over time.
At around 17:00 the tour ends and you’ll head back to Istanbul, stopping at the half-way point for dinner.
